Routine Cleanings & Exams
Routine cleanings and examinations are important in ensuring your child’s teeth grow healthy without any issues or diseases. From the first visit to a pediatric dentist to routine visits, it is important to find the right dental office for your child. At Rockstar Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, we have experienced and qualified dentists on our team who specialize in pediatric dentistry and orthodontics. Children are at the heart of our dental practice, and we guide you and your child to a lifetime of healthy smiles.
First Cleaning & Examination
Every child should get their first dental examination and clean no later than six months after their first tooth erupts. If your child misses that appointment, make sure to bring your child for an examination to our office before their first birthday. Every child has their own pace of dental milestones. We recommend that you bring your child to our dental office whenever one of these events occurs.
Routine Dental Exams & Cleanings
According to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, pediatric dental exams and cleanings should be scheduled every 6 months. Based on your child’s dental health and development, we may recommend fewer or more visits.
So what should you expect during these scheduled visits? Pediatric exams and cleanings are similar to those for adults.
- Our Pediatric Dentist will assess your child’s mouth for any signs of tooth decay or gum disease.
- The cleaning will begin after the examination.
- We will clean, polish, and floss each tooth and remove any buildup of plaque or tartar.
- We will create and provide a customized treatment plan if any issues are found.
There are many benefits of getting your child’s teeth checked and cleaned regularly. It helps improve their oral health, identify any potential problems in time, and develop brushing and flossing habits.
